Another Snowy Sunday

Although we had a great dose of Spring this past week which lead to daydreams about grass and flowers and wearing sandals, we woke up to the reality that it's still March in Calgary..... Snow on the ground, covering the recently exposed grass once again. This is our first winter in Calgary where there has been snow on the ground since December. Typically, it snows then the city doesn't plow because they're anxiously awaiting a Chinook. The Chinook comes, melts all the snow that fell and then all the roads are bare until the next snowfall. This year the Chinooks have been less frequent and everyone I talk to is sooooo ready for it to be officially spring! Ironically, it is officially spring now, isn't it? Well, I suppose the best we can hope for now is that a Chinook will blow in quickly and that the melting of this most recent snow will help the older, crusty snow melt faster!

Here's to soon-blossoming flowers and the fresh smell of spring!

Happy March!

Well, it's officially March, and I've just gotten back from a great trip to New Brunswick. My wonderful husband gave my a trip home for Christmas and it was great! I didn't get to do much driving though, as I somehow managed to lose my driver's license in the Montreal airport! Oh well, I guess I was forced to sit back and truly relax since I couldn't drive!

Mom managed to create some drama by slipping on the ice in the driveway. We ended up going to the ER department in Bathurst for some x-rays, but thankfully there was nothing broken! She was in quite a bit of pain for the rest of my visit though. The place where she was most comfortable was in the car, so we did a few day trips - she needed therapy right??? ;o)

On my first full day, mom and I went for a drive in the beautiful sunshine and found a few interesting things to take pictures of - namely the ice beginning to build up along the Beresford beach - here are some interesting pictures!

On Sunday, mom and I headed to Caraquet for a nice visit with Jean and Susan. Susan prepared a fabulous dinner for us and I stayed for the night and got to visit with Mireille, Jonathan and Madison the next morning. Here are a couple of pictures from Caraquet - the land of snow!

On the Tuesday, I was able to spend an awesome afternoon with some of my best friends and two new babies! I was so excited to be able to meet Conan and Tennyson! They're both so adorable - we had a day of getting drooled and spit up on, but it was still great to be able to hang out with Sara, Heidi and Aloma and the babies!

Mom and I also had a great trip to the Miramichi - always a favorite trip of mine when in NB. Nothing like hanging out with the Brown's and sharing a few (okay..... a LOT) of laughs!

So..... to sum it all up, I had a fabulous week in NB, and really wish that it could have been longer but, alas, all good things come to and end right? Marc picked me up at the airport on Saturday and and I was very happy to have a couple of days to spend with him before I headed back to work on Monday. Thanks for the great Christmas present babe!
